Counterfeit goods

Question

I ordered something from what appeared to be a private seller. It was collagen powder which once I received it, realised it was not the original product and as the ingredients looked odd I of course don’t want to consume it. The sellers posts have and the seller, now seem to have been removed for a policy violation, so I’m unable to contact them and eBay are saying the case is closed. So I’m unable to get a refund? Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like eBay caught up with this seller selling counterfeit items , and removed them from their site.

You do need to contact eBay Customer Services as this seller will not be receiving any cases to deal with as they are no longer with eBay.

Contacting eBay Customer Services is not easy nowadays to get a live agent , but some have had success using the app, otherwise keep typing in ' I wish to speak to an agent' and this too can work.

Use this link to contact CS, if you can try at 8 a.m. on a weekday morning also more chance there for Dublin to answer.

Why on earth would you buy collagen powder from someone who appears to be a private seller on eBay?

eBay even warns buyers in the user agreement that they don't guarantee the quality of items sold here, that they will be truthfully described, safe or even legal!

It's risky to buy anything that you would consume from unknown sellers here. I hope that you get your money back, but the important thing is to learn from your experience. eBay is a jungle.
