Contacting a Seller
I am registered as a buyer but I am unable to send a message to ANY sellers. When I click on Contact Seller it takes me to another page but the word OTHER is not there and I cannot type anything in, thank you

OP8 months agoI tried everything that was recommended but still no go. I note there are quite a few complaints on the internet about not being able to "Contact Seller"
Just to close things down, finally sorted at last but don't know what E Bay did to fix it.
I had to request a phone call back twice, last one was Nov 11th, Operator said it would be sorted in 48 hours, however it suddenly started working ok from today 20th Nov.
Hope it stays that way as I intend to upgrade to a "sellers account"
Thanks to all who tried to help me

Mentor10 months agoIs this happening with lots of sellers?
Only asking because some sellers block messages from potential buyers, under the assumption that all info is in the listing.

Mentor10 months agoWhich contact seller link have you used?
As well as the contact seller on top right of listings, there is another link on feedback page. That takes you to a page where options are Not about an item, and enter item number.
Enter item number I find does not work, but Not about an item does. If necessary put item number in message.

OP10 months agoThank you for your suggestions John but still no go.
Tried all the options you suggest but same ending - When I click on contact seller it goes to another page which lists Details, Postage Other, Still Have Questions etc.
To the right of Still Have Questions there is a box that says Contact Seller but it is "not very bright" and if I hover the cursor over it the cursor does not turn into a "hand". All that happens if I click on it is that a smaller box comes up on the right hand side of screen that gives me the option to "Buy It Now2 and the lower half of page is blank (where I should be able to type a message I guess, but it will not let me type anything and at the bottom of the page the "send message box is all greyed out.
As mentioned in my response on 3 Oct I will ask E Bay for another call back but I will wait until normal weekday, say Monday.
Thank you for trying

Mentor10 months agoYou could try clearing cookies or using a different browser. Also ebay will class you as a new buyer and there are activity limits for new buyers. Adding a credit card to your account for verification should help. In My eBay go to Account tab, towards top left > Payment information > Payments > click on Add Payment Option.

OP10 months agoHi, many thanks for your reply. Been registered as a buyer for many years. Always use my bank debit card. Average 1 purchase a month this year, no problem. Used to be able to ask sellers a question.
I have already cleared cache etc and tried other browsers. Requested call back from e bay last week, they said it would be fixed in 48 hours but they haven't.
Tried changing my card details but still no go.
I will ask e bay for another call back, thank you
