Combined post insurance
I’m selling small items that are about 100g with packaging and feel that postage doesn’t cater for this and is expensive compared to things 7 times the size and weight that pay the same.Am I missing something? That wasn’t why I’m here today though it to add this injustice although I could be wrong and doing things wrong but I’m sure on RM track48 which I tend to use the insurance has gone down from £150 to £75.If I sell an item I tend to follow it up with offers to buyers that aren’t listed and if they like I list them at an agreed price.The large letter which is me pushing it as the 2.5cm dimension with packaging is close and to be honest I’m surprised I’ve got away with it so many times but as for the other dimensions and weight I’m nowhere near.With me offering free post on any purchases/add on sales I have to go up to up to small parcel which has a weight limit and size limit even further beyond what I need bearing in mind my items without packaging have dimensions pretty consistent of 2.3cm 7.9cm 11.3cm and are fragile so the large letter 2.5cm doesn’t leave me enough packing room anyway.But to go up to small parcel seems ridiculous and leaves hardly any combined postage saving for the buyer.Bigger problem is 2 of my items can go over the £75 insurance and 3 almost certainly will.Does this mean I have to pay the £11 ish special delivery RM label price which is a rise in price for combined postage for room and weight I won’t use and worse how do you explain or even get anyone to buy from me if I offer a price rise for combined postage.I’ve got to be doing something wrong.Anyone who can work out my rambling on first of all deserves a medal but if that person can please help me they will have my undying appreciation.Thank you.

Your question is more a postage/Royal Mail question.
If you sell a buyer more than one of your lighters and the value of your parcel is then more than £75, then you really should use Special Delivery.
If I was in your shoes, I might consider listing with free delivery and adding £5 or so to the price of every item to cover postage.
Lighters are not eligible for Simple Delivery, otherwise you would be covered for £750.

Items must have a ‘Buy it Now’ price or auction starting price of £750 (inclusive of taxes) or less to be eligible.
