Combine postage button not available
Summary: gigizobeiski is experiencing issues on eBay where the option to combine postage for a buyer's purchase of 4 items is unavailable. When attempting to generate a postage label, errors occur, and the 'Combine' button is greyed out. Additionally, the option to send an invoice is missing. They are wondering if this is due to differing item sizes or a server issue, and are considering asking the buyer to pay and then issuing a partial refund. eBay's AI help has not been useful, as it advises checking the operational status page, which shows no issues.
I’ve had someone purchase 4 items this morning and they have understandably asked for combine postage before they pay.
I have followed eBay’s instructions and gone to the Orders section on my Seller Hub and selected all 4 items, but when I choose ‘Get postage label’ from the drop-down menu, the next screen lists all 4 orders as “Sorry, we couldn't load this order. Error getting order from server” and the ‘Combine’ button next to the ‘Edit’ and ‘Remove’ buttons is greyed out.
The other advice from eBay is to send an invoice, but again, that option is missing from Amy drop down option for all the orders.
Is this because the items are different sizes and therefore have different shipping dimensions/prices associated with them?
Would it be ok to ask the buyer to pay and then give them a partial refund?
Or do we think it is just a server issue? The AI help it isn’t helpful, just keeps telling me to check the status page, and selling us listed as operational there.

Mentor3 weeks agoYou can only combine with Simple Delivery postage if the buyer has put all the items in their basket first. Otherwise you can either combine anyway but 3 of the items won't be tracked on ebay and payment may be held for 14 days. Or cancel the transactions with the buyer's agreement (via the dropdown menu arrow for the item on your orders list) and relist them all on one listing with one postage for the buyer to buy again.
