Click and Collect
Summary: busselldoug43 expresses frustration over the closure of a local store in Dumfries, which previously served as a convenient click and collect point for eBay purchases. The nearest alternative is now 12.7 miles away, leading them to remove items from their basket. john1297576 suggests having a friend or relative accept deliveries, but busselldoug43 emphasizes the convenience that click and collect used to offer, highlighting the challenges of reliable parcel delivery.
Hello, I've spent £1000,s in recent years and collected my purchases from Argos in Dumfries. Since last Thursday 23rd July, this store no longer exists. When going through the eBay checkout to pay for the new things in my basket, the nearest click and collect point is 12.7 miles away ! In another town.
How can this be possible? A fairly large sized town in Scotland with 30,000+ people, yet nowhere to collect your eBay items. It's ridiculous.
I've had to remove all the items from my basket, as there's no way i can ever get my hands on them.

OP2 weeks agoNo, surely the idea of Click and Collect is that you collect the items yourself from a store near you. Not travel 12.7 miles, not have your purchases delivered to your home address, as nobody is in and you don't have to chase up parcels from unreliable couriers to re-arrange delivery. Click and Collect used to fix all that, now it's broken, well for me at least.

Mentor2 weeks agoA lot of of Argos stores have withdrawn from C&C.
Some local shops are accepting items, but unless ebay have them listed, nothing you can do.
