Chinese items sold with unsafe electric plugs.
Amplifier sold with dangerous unfused mains lead. Reported to seller, who said " safe to use, item checked at factory".
Factory in China. Ebay refused my report and appeal. Will it take a death of a buyer before they remove this item from sale. I have in the past received other Chinese imports with dangerous plugs. Just had to return or cut it off and fit UK plug.

Mentor10 months agoWell spotted, Plpmr. I would have thought it would be worth waiting 7 days in order to leave an important neg.

but eBay have removed it from sale and you say so in your positive feedback.
Why leave positive feedback? Why not wait?

Mentor10 months agoWhen you buy items from China those items have not undergone any of the safety checks they would have if they'd been imported officially.
You are the importer in this case and are actually responsible for it.
I would never buy electrical items from the far east as they are just not compatible with us.

OP10 months agoYes, I always check where the item is based, but the listing shows a mains lead with the correct UK plug fitted. The item was sent from a UK warehouse. The seller is no longer answering my messages. I want to keep the item, but eBay only give the option to return it. I noticed that my feedback is the only one for the product, so buyers reading it, will see my update. As it operates from mains or 12volt dc, I will use a transformer to test it, before fitting the correct plug. Thanks to you and others who have replied to me. I have also received another item made in China, with an even more dangerous plug fitted, but eBay have already removed that listing, so sometimes they will and sometimes they won't act, on a report.
Kind regards,
Graham, ( gjb1121 ).

Mentor10 months agoNo point reporting it.
As advised by @john1297576
Open item not as described case.
Ignore seller excuses, escalate case on day 4.

OP10 months agoWill try that, but I do not want to return item. I just wanted to warn others and have done this in my feedback. As the amplifier also has a 12volt DC input, I will test it this way.

Mentor10 months agoWhy haven’t you opened a NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE, ebay will not just take your word, they never see anything that is sold, but if a seller has a number of cases opened, then it does come to their notice.

OP10 months agoI reported to Ebay and included a photo of the dangerous mains plug. They have not accepted my report.
