Changing the type if return
I have been dealing with a selller that wanted me to change the type of return from FAULTY to ORDERED BY MISTAKE - even though the item was faulty.
I cancelled the Faulty return but now i cant re do the return is that normal - ie if a return is closed can you open another?

·4 months agoIf you close a return, you can't open another one.
As the item was faulty, you can go to your payment provider and start a chargeback. The seller was unwise to give you bad/dishonest advice as a chargeback will cost them more and won't look good on their account.

2. Faulty seller pays for return cost.
3. Bought in error you the buyer pays return cost.
4. Remember seller lied when leaving feedback especially marking down star ratings.

I don't think we've ever heard of eBay allowing a buyer to reopen a closed case, or open a second one.
(Except when an item not described case is closed when it's delivered - but the item received is not as described.)

Mentor4 months agoNoooo, the seller has fobbed you off with a false reason for changing the reason, and no you cannot open another case for that item with eBay.
As it was faulty, turn now to your payment provider for help with a refund.
For future purchases never listen to any excuses or promises a seller may make, you open the relevant case and escalate on day 4 if not refunded beforehand, never close it for any reason and do not forget to escalate.

Mentor4 months agounfortunately you cannot open another case with eBay.
You can try a case with PayPal or your payment provider and stick to faulty.
