Changing email to address I haveused on another account

I want to change the email address on my account, but when I try to do this I'm told that the address is already in use. I set up an account years ago that I think used that address, but I don't remember the account name. How can I use that email address? I'm happy for the other account to be closed.

Email address can only be used on 1 ebay account.

If already used,set up a new one.
