Car purchase
A recent car purchase using sellers delivery service arrived ok but with some faults not described in advert. My major dissatisfaction is the avoidance to return any calls or messages asking for receipt of sale and paperwork re warranty promised and advertised .

Mentor6 months agoI'm afraid there's no buyer protection when buying vehicles on eBay.
You might need to take legal advice if the faults are major and vital paperwork is not forthcoming.

Mentor6 months agoAs @tressygirl advises --- now between Seller /Yourself/ Warranty issue. Seek Citizens Advice /Trading Standards advice or/and Legal advice. Sorry, but buyer protection is not available for Vehicle purchases.

Unlike most other purchases, motor vehicles are not paid for through eBay's checkout. The paperwork for any warranty offered is a matter for the seller - eBay does not get involved in sellers' warranties.
As has been said, there is NO BUYER PROTECTION WHATSOEVER from eBay for vehicles bought here, however you pay. Agreeing to let seller deliver it is especially risky, as I imagine they will have required you to pay in advance. Thankfully, at least you received a vehicle - many buyers have found that their vehicled didn't even exist.
You perhaps didn't read eBay's warning in the user agreement, that they do not guarantee the truth of descriptions or the quality, safety or legality of items advertised here. It isn't a good idea to buy a car unseen!
If you even buy one here again, the best way to protect yourself is not to pay anything, not even a deposit, until you have seen and inspected the vehicle, checked the paperwork and had an HPI check. Then pay in a way that is safe for both the buyer and seller - which may mean paying in cash.
