Cancelling a declined refund
Summary: katmailley2010 is struggling with a situation on eBay where a buyer tried to cancel a phone purchase after changing their mind, but the buyer has refused to pay. The system won't allow another cancellation since the first one is already open, leading to confusion and frustration. tressygirl advises that the cancellation will time out after 4 days, allowing a case for non-payment to be opened, and suggests blocking the buyer. papso22 notes that refusing cancellation leads to complications and warns about potential issues if the buyer pays and later returns the item.
I sold a phone and the buyer then tried to cancel a few hours later saying he changed his mind. I refused the cancellation and he’s refused to pay.
I’ve now been in a never ending cycle of not being able to cancel given it’s been more than 4 days as it just says a cancellation was already opened so I can’t open another one.
EBay takes me to the same guidance where I simply cannot cancel the order and have no idea how to sort it or contact a human.
Any help please?

Mentor3 weeks agoRequests to cancel can be a pain, but are the easy option, instead of creating problems like this. Always block any bidders who cause problems.

Mentor3 weeks agoMy understanding is that once you refuse a cancellation then there are no further cancellation options available to you, including the one for non payment.
You should have accepted the cancellation. If they do now pay they can go on to cause you issues with a return.

Mentor3 weeks agohe cancellation will time out soon, and buyer have a full 4 days to pay.
Once those 4 days have lapsed, and it is timed to the second , you will be able to open a case for non payment.
Meanwhile block this buyer from returning to your sales and causing more trouble.
