Canceled Order
I recently sold an item on Amazon, but the buyer canceled the order due to personal reasons.
He paid the full amount, but now, for some reason, I’m being asked to pay £140 from my bank account, while my available funds are only £309. I did not have any negative balance before this sale. How is this possible? The item was sold on September 5th, and just yesterday the buyer asked me to cancel it.

OP11 months agoI realised that 140 is a mix of ebay fees and postage and the net sale is 309. Why am I still asked to pay fees over a sale that got canceled? What is going to happen to these 140£ I have to pay? Will ebay refund me ? Because otherwise it just doesnt make any sense

·11 months agoIt is not a fee.
Ebay have not released the buyer's payment to you yet.
They refund the buyer from your money.
Then, they pay the buyer's money to you afterwards.
You may be out of pocket for a short time.

Mentor11 months agoebay take refunds from wherever is available, ie. balance and bank account. Then you keep the payment once it clears.

OP11 months agoIf x person pays 450 on my ebay account i expect ebay taking money for the refund from my ebay account and not from my bank account. The user paid 450 but on my account i can only see 309 and now I am being asked to pay 140 from my bank account - it just doesnt make sense

Mentor11 months agoIf there is not enough in your ebay account to cover the refund, they have to take the balance from somewhere, that somewhere is your bank account.

But if i start from 0 as number and i add 450 i get 450
then if i do 450 - 450 i go back to 0 not negative 140
