Cancelation… is this seller using threatening behaviour ?
Summary: pittss-2b described an issue with a mistaken order for adhesive products that they attempted to cancel shortly after placing. The seller declined the cancellation, claiming the item had already been dispatched. When pittss-2b questioned this, the seller accused them of harassment and threatened to report them to authorities. *vyolla* advised ceasing communication with the seller and suggested options for a refund if the item is not received or if it arrives and needs to be returned.
Due to technical issues with my PC and internet connection, an inadvertent/mistaken order (Order number 05-14980-04573) was placed for 2x Loctite Precision Max Super Glue Clear Fast Strong Adhesive Extra Long Nozzle on Friday 31 Jul 2026 at 10:08 PM.
A cancellation (Cancel ID 5448486262) was requested less than 24hrs later, the following Saturday morning.
However, the seller subsequently declined the cancelation with an automated response;
Quote:
Here's the tracking number: went 30th
My subsequent response via ‘Messages’ was;
Quote:
Hi ,
I tried to cancel this order/item (05-14980-04573) as it was ordered by mistake.
However, you’ve stated it cannot be cancelled as it “went 30th”.
This is utter BS… the order/mistake was made yesterday on July 31st.
Can you explain this ?
If you’re not willing to explain or cancel, I’ll be more than happy to take this up with eBay.
Regards, Phil.
The seller subsequently responded and implied the item had already been dispatched;
Quote:
Type it was 31st
Sarah
At this juncture, in my ‘Orders’ section, the item was ‘Awaiting dispatch’.
My subsequent response, again, via ‘Messages’ to then ask the following question;
Quote:
OK, so it was sent/went before 8pm ?
Phil.
The seller subsequently responded, apparently accusing me of harassment and seemingly making a groundless threat of reporting me to Action Fraud and the Police;
Quote;
Good bye harrass someone else please.
Thankyoiu
Would you prefer us to take this up with action fraud or were you perhaps here were shut watching us work
Weve reported this to ebay and the police goodbye
My subsequent and final response, again, via ‘Messages’ was;
Quote:
Please, feel free to take it up with action fraud. Plus, I look forward to hearing from eBay and the Police in due course.
Have a nice day !
Since the item in my ‘Orders’ section is still ‘Awaiting dispatch’ (Sunday 2 Aug 20216) and unless I’m mistaken, the ability to contact eBay regarding this issue is somewhat of a joke… any help from the community is greatly welcomed.

Mentor1 week ago · EditedIt's not a threatening conversation, just a daft one. I'd cease engaging with that seller, some of the business sellers use fulfilment centres and the orders are sent through straight away and cancelling is difficult, in which case you may return the order under their returns policy.
If they don't send it, then after the latest estimated delivery date showing on the listing you can open an eBay item not received claim and get a full refund.
