Buyer's item taken from doorstep after being delivered

I sold an item and sent it on time
It was delivered according to the tracking to the correct address
The buyer said he has not received the item, and has admitted he had a message from the courier showing a picture of his doorstep with the box
So if the item was stolen, surely it's no my responsibility and I am not liable as the item was delivered to the correct address and not lost in the post
eBay have put funds on hold, and I am sure I will get the money, but want others opinions on the situation

Mentor1 week agoIf you had tracking added to the case your buyer opened to show delivery, then you will not have to refund.
Unfortunately items are stolen when couriers / Posties do not leave items in a safe place, but this is totally out of the control of eBay or you the seller.
Your buyer could try their payment provider or perhaps their house insurance? It's not easy!
