Buyer wants to pick up
Buyer wants to pick up. Will he had a six figure number or QR code? I advertised with simple postage but said 'pick up possible'. He had paid for the postage and will want that back. I will not have proof that it has been delivered either and risk losing my money if he says 'item didn't arrive'. What should I have done to avoid this? And is there a proper way to resolve it?

OP5 months agoThanks 'papso22'.
I will going ahead and take the risk this time. I wouldn't cancel the sale as this might irritate my buyer, no point in that. Next time I will list with 'collection as a delivery option' as well as postage. I can wait for ebay to pay me.

Mentor5 months agoIt's not a case of having to wait a minimum of 14 days for the payment you must remember doing this you will have no proof of delivery / collection. The buyer could if they were dishonest claim a non receipt case, and you would have to fully refund.
The good advice given, to cancel doesn't mean end the sale completely, but with the buyer's permission to cancel and relist as a collection only item, for them to buy and pay again, so they will have that important collection code which they must give to you to scan, your only proof of collection.
Cancelling citing ' Buyer Requests to Cancel' fully refunds them and your seller performance is not affected. Of course messaging them to fully explain your actions.

Mentor5 months agoYou would only cancel with the agreement of buyer after you had explained the reason. No reason to upset buyer, but risk of losing a sale, if he did not buy again.

Mentor5 months agoYou should have listed with collection as a 'delivery' option as well as postage. It's no use just putting something in the description.
You could go ahead with this sale and collection and the buyer will get refunded the unused postage by ebay, but that means no collection code, a delay in payment to you, and no seller protection.
Or you could cancel this sale and relist for collection.
Or you could post it.
