Buyer Wants Me To Delay Posting Item

May I ask for your advice please?
I have sold an item to a Buyer who lives overseas. The Buyer is going away on holiday and wants me to delay the posting of this item for a few weeks. I am happy with this and have told the Buyer to delay payment. Obviously as soon as payment has been made I am obliged to post it. The Buyer does not want the item to be delivered if he isn’t there.
May I add that this Buyer is solid and I trust him implicitly.
Does anybody have an advice or experienced anything similar? Thanks.

Mentor1 month agoYour dispatch rating will suffer so it's best to cancel the transaction with the buyer's agreement (via the dropdown menu arrow for the item on your orders list) and relist when they get back for them to buy again.

The buyer is holding off from paying for the time being so my dispatch rating hopefully shouldn’t be affected.
I don’t know how long the buyer can go without paying before eBay gets on their case. I’m happy to wait for however long.
