Buyer unable to supply, sent email stating and now can't get refund
Summary: activities4all-uk expressed frustration over a situation with a seller on eBay who promised a refund for undelivered batteries but set up a confusing return process instead. papso22 advised that when an item is not received, it's best to open a case within 30 days of the expected delivery, rather than a return case, and suggested contacting eBay directly. activities4all-uk expressed dissatisfaction with eBay's system, comparing it to a marketplace full of scams and considering Amazon as an alternative. fargvs provided a link for eBay customer service callbacks, offering a possible solution to the issue.
So I bought 4 batteries from a seller. After a number of weeks he messaged he is unable to deliver and will issue a refund.
And this is the issue.. By messaging you accept he will issue a refund but it appears to be a ruse and EBAY doesn't have a issue a refund link only a return, which I don't have.
So I start a return and they issue a code to retrun (return what ???) then I read the return cost will be deducted from the refund ???? It's brand new, I've not received it and I can only send a print of the email in a letter.
So the address showing where the seller sells from. The return address is an army barracks (which wouldn't be allowed as its a security risk!!!!)
Ebay you need to contact me please.. It's IMPOSSIBLE to contact you, I get sent around the houses with your links.

Mentor3 months agoAlternatively you can still ask your payment provider for help, unless paypal when you only have 30 days.

Mentor3 months agoOf course you can't return something you don't have! What you needed to do was open a case for item not received within 30 days of the expected delivery date. Unfortunately, although you can open a return case after an item not received case you can't go the other way. You do need to contact ebay and see if they will help you with this. Ebay are not going to contact you as a result of your post on here.

OP3 months agoThanks for the info.. Do you have a link as Ebay don't. It's getting more like the wildwest at Ebay.. So many scams and junk being sold. I don't use Amazon but as Ebay is more like Marketplace these days I think Amazon is going to be a better bet.
