Buyer trying it on
Summary: carolineshirlingrooke is dealing with a buyer issue regarding a laptop sale. The buyer claims the laptop is not new, is dirty, and contains a login ID, which contradicts the seller's description after the OS installation. carolineshirlingrooke is concerned about the potential damage or misuse if the laptop is returned and seeks advice on handling the situation.
I have a buyer who bought a brand new laptop from me. I had explained that the laptop box had been opened to load the operating system that I had purchased (and to do this you would need to have setup a login and password). The buyer is complaining that:
Return reason
Item didn't match description
Comments
this laptop is not new, its dirty, and it has someone else login id on there.
My dilemma is that if I refund the buyer in full they will will just return the laptop “dirty “ (which it absolutely was not) or do something to it technically (they are a small IT company)
Does anyone have some advice?
Thanks
Caroline

Mentor3 weeks agoI don't think you understand the meaning of 'brand new'. If you loaded software it's used.
You need to accept the return.
