Buyer tracking when seller uses Simple Delivery Program
Hi. It's my first time buying when the seller is using eBay's Simple Delivery Program ( maybe arm up his back? 😉). All it says in the listing of the order details is:
Tracking Details:
Postal service Standard tracked delivery
Courier Royal Mail
The Progress Bar above it shows Paid but has not progressed to Tracking Available yet. It is now a couple of days since purchase so I would have thought it would have been posted by now. I have messaged the seller back about it but have not had a reply yet.
Should I automatically get tracking info as the buyer with the Simple Delivery Program?

Mentor11 months agoYes, as soon as they print the SD postage label you get an email to say dispatched with a link to the tracking. It's possible they've bought their own postage and don't know how to add that to ebay. Or they just haven't sent it yet. You have 30 days to get your money back but hopefully it won't come to that.

OP11 months agoThanks for the explanation Peaseblossom, that clears up my query. Nowhere is that info available in eBay's support info that I can find.
You have given a couple of reasons why it isn't showing up but, of course, it is possible the seller has simply not despatched the item yet and is behind on the purchase. In which case I shall rattle the cage to find out.
I'm no expert but that SDP seems to be a new piece of confusion for sellers while it is a step forward for eBay's accountants and bean counters. It's another little area under their manipulation. Ebay's "eye for a profit", (I think we can read greed?), seems to know no bounds. Time for an alternative source!!!
