Buyer states feature no working
Summary: billbrisco1953 discussed a situation where their buyer requested a refund, claiming that the autofocus feature on a purchased item wasn't working. After accepting the return, billbrisco1953 found the items functional, as the buyer had set the lenses to manual focus. Despite providing evidence to the buyer, billbrisco1953 remains under pressure from the platform to issue a refund. john1297576 advised that if the buyer escalates the case, they might receive a refund from the platform at billbrisco1953's expense.
My buyer wanted a refund because the buyer stated the A/F(auto focus) feature was not working, should I have accepted a return? I did and checked the items and they both worked, as the buyer had set both lenses to M/F mode. Since the buyer requested a refund they have not responded to my messages which included photos showing the switch was in the wrong position. Yet I keep getting messages from Ebay saying I should refund the money. The Canon 400D instruction manual was included in the sale.
Any ideas

Mentor2 weeks agoIf buyer opened a not as described case, did you pay for return label.
If you have received item back, and do not refund, buyer could escalate to ebay who would refund at your expense and you would get a defect.
Unfair but that is how it works.
