Buyer says item not as described when it clearly is
Hi, I recently sold a couple of Gamecube games that were faulty, I clearly listed them in the title as "Faulty Gamecube Games" and in the description I said they were not working, the discs were scratched and I couldn't get my Gamecube to read them.
The buyer has since opened a case saying the items were not as described because they are scratched and not working, even though this is exactly as I described them. I pointed this out to the buyer and he says he still wants a refund.
I've reported him to ebay for making a false claim but not sure what to do about the open case, reading through other posts it seems as if ebay find in the buyers favour all the time, so should I just refund?
It was for very little money so it's no problem but it's the principle of it, he clearly hasn't paid attention to the listing and is now trying to get out of it.

·5 months agoYou say the buyer has not paid attention to the listing but, honestly, in my opinion, you should have paid more attention as you listed.
You listed using the condition 'Acceptable' which Ebay define as 'An item that has obvious and significant wear but is still in usable condition.'
This means they will work, and they don't.
I think you should refund the buyer without needing them to return the items.

OP5 months agoYeah ok I can see your point but "Acceptable" was the lowest option available when selecting condition so that's what I selected and then made it very obvious that they didn't work.
I wasn't even going to bother listing them but don't like just binning things and thought someone with a disc polisher/resurfacer might be able to get them going again, won't bother in future.

Mentor5 months agoIt could pay to refund before buyer escalates, as that might avoid you getting a damaging defect.
Saying this it is just possible that buyer may not proceed with case, but that may be over optimistic.

Mentor5 months agoIf the buyer escalates their case ebay may refund without return but if you don't necessarily want them back you could wait to see what ebay says first. Or just refund to have done with it. Either way put the buyer on your blocked bidder list:
