Buyer saying the ended auction but didn’t

I was a winning bidder on sofas, seller is saying they ended auction early but didn’t. Will this affect my reviews if I don’t pay? My bid was very low and sofas said 9 weeks old, seller now saying that he’d broken legs on 1 and took them to the tip this morning, very questionable

If you won and do not pay, seller could after 4 days cancel for non payment and you get a Non payment strike.

It is really up to seller to cancel, but can get a defect himself if he uses the wring reason to cancel.

Rather than trust seller to do the right thing, I suggest paying, and if seller does not refund, open a not received case as soon as past the expected delivery date.

That is questionable but tell the seller to cancel the transaction at their end.
