Buyer requesting unfair return
Summary: your_niche is facing an issue with a return on a sale made through an online marketplace. The item sold had cosmetic damage which was clearly stated in the listing, but the buyer is returning it, claiming it was not as described. Despite the buyer's message indicating that the return was due to no longer needing the item, they processed it under 'not as described', forcing your_niche to accept the return. They expressed frustration that the marketplace's support was unhelpful, and a case they opened was quickly closed in favor of the buyer.
The item sold had cosmetic damage, which I clearly stated in the listing, but they buyer is now returning on the grounds the item was not as described due to this damage but the buyer messaged me through eBay saying that they just "don't need it anymore" and had they selected that it was unwanted I would've had the option to decline the return, which I wish to do. eBay support have been of 0 use, I opened a case but it was closed within 30 minutes and resulted in the buyer getting their way and a return being processed, where I now have to pay despite doing nothing wrong.
