Buyer Requested Refund: Negative Balance
Good Day eBayers,
Yesterday I sold an item and then very quickly afterwards I received a cancellation request, which I approved and processed a refund.
The buyer had paid for the item, but the funds were not cleared so the refund came from my eBay balance. I’m now showing as £50 down because of this.
This is the first time I have done a refund and I am worried that eBay will hold and reject their original payment, while also having refunded them from my account.
Is it normal to refund straight from eBay balance before payment has been cleared? Or am I over thinking this?

Mentor6 months agoThis is how ebay refunds - from the seller's balance or funding source. You will keep the payment when it clears.
