Buyer requested cancellation, why do I have to pay for this?
Summary: cathal670 is frustrated about being charged £6.35 for a transaction cancellation requested by a buyer who used the wrong card. tommystrezures suggests that relisting the item as requested by the buyer might be suspicious and advises against it. cathal670 expresses confusion about why they are being charged since the money is being taken from their card without any promotion involved.
Buyer said he paid with the wrong card and wants to cancel the order, and he wants me to relist the item with a buy-it-now price equal to the purchase price so he can buy it again.
Why am I getting charged for cancelling if its not even my decision in the first place? It says I'll need to pay £6.35 because the seller made a mistake with his payment option.
What recourse do I have here where I don't lose any money?

Mentor6 days agoYou aren't losing money, but your ebay account only has £218 in it so they will take the funds from another source. ro make up to £224.99.
Did you originally have a promotion or something on the item?
They buyer suggesting what they are is a bit odd. Sounds like a wheeze to launder and wash some money.
Personally I wouldn't relist it for them at all.

Mentor5 days agoReserves are an optional listing upgrade, payable sale or no sale and charged the second the item goes live.
It's the most expensive too, payable at 4% of your set reserve.
