Buyer protection with regards to misleading sold-for price on auctions
This is only for auctions, not for buy now items.
I want to know why the price shown for ended auctions from private sellers, on original listing page and also on sellers own sold items list, is higher than what was actually paid. It shows a buyer protection amount added to the highest bid, as the price sold, but the buyer protection amount is never actually added to the amount paid by the auction winner.

OP4 months agothe case.
I won an auction for an item, my winning bid was £23.40 the
postage was £2.94, I paid a total of £26.34 on my past orders list it states ‘Order
total:£26.34’
On the original listing for this sold item and also on
the sellers sold items list, it states, the price for this item is £25.04 incl.
£1.64 for Buyer Protection this price is given before the price of posting is
added of £2.94 which would make the total up to £27.98 but I paid £26.34 I was
not charged that £1.64 Buyer Protection that is stated as included on the
original listing page.
This happens for every private auction I have won, obviously
the values are different but always the price listed on the original listing
for this sold item and also on the sellers sold items list, is always a higher
value than what I have been charged, it includes a Buyer Protection value, but
I have never been charged for any of theses items, that extra Buyer Protection charge, that is stated on the original listing for this sold item and also on the
sellers sold items list.
Why is this?
