Buyer not collecting -
I sold an item on the 9th September for collection. Had to message the buyer repeatedly requesting their collection plan. Zero reply for 3 days. I kept chasing, they suddenly made the payment (low value £4 item). I repeated questions about their planned collection time, they just ghosted me. on 21st following further chasing and expression of frustration.....they finally responded asking where the item was located.
They claimed reason for delay was that I had not provided location..... I provide location and pointed out that this was already described in the advert. Asked them for a date and approx time so I could then provide them with full address and directions. They indicated potential on the weekend or late evening.. I confirmed any would be fine and that I would give them address once they confirmed date/time..
No respons again.... chased again... got an odd message telling me why should I care as they've already paid... and "do whatever you want"
item is still marked on eBay highlighting that I need to complete delivery... If he's not bothered to collect then I want to cancel the sales so I can sell elsewhere, but don't want to get dinged on my ratings for cancellation...
Cannot get any help or guidance from eBay
What is the recommendation course of action ?

OP10 months agoHi @*guinevere* I tried to cancel as you suggest.. but now I'm in a doom loop. the system is trying to arrange a refund, but there ais no balance and it would appear the payment made by the buyer has already been disbursed to me. There is an option to add "payment method" but when I click this, the page just loops back to the same page and never lets me add payment methods. no idea what to do next.... 😞
Appreciate any help from yourself or others on the forum.

Mentor10 months agoTry clearing everything and then adding a payment method before trying to cancel the sale.
You have presumably already registered your bank account and set up a direct debit to ebay? They should then be using the DD for the refund.

OP10 months agoHi there. Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure what else i can 'clear' ?
There is already a bank account registered on the my eBay which is used for direct debit/credit' to/from eBay. I know the account works because I received a credit just a few days back into that account. But it does not show up on the cancellation screen and will will not let me add... when I click to add a new payment method, it just refreshes the screen and I make no progress. really confused.

Mentor10 months agoAccess to your account is needed here to see what is stopping you using your registered back up source, your bank account for this refund, and for this you need to speak to Customer Services.
I do recommend contacting them first thing when lines first open at 8 a.m. today for live agents, as there's more chance of Dublin answering. Only speak to them, it's a Call Back option so you'll hear, if it's the dulcet tones of the Emerald Isles !
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.
Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.
As said, recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Mentor10 months agoCancel the sale using "Buyer asked to cancel". This will give an automatic refund.
Add the buyer to your blocked bidders and relist.
There will be no harm done to your account.

OP10 months ago@guinevere, Thank you for the feedback . I will do that . It's just so frustrating that people behave like this, and act as if I'm the one being unreasonable. 😞
