Buyer Misused Returns Policy
Summary: tigger462 shared their experience of selling a Fitbit, clearly describing and photographing a broken strap in the listing. As title explains, sold a Fitbit which the title clearly stated to read description. Description then clearly stated the pin/strap had broken and thus glued and couldn't be changed. Priced accordingly due to this.
Buyer opens to return by forcing the "not as described" stating that "the pin was broken and strap couldn't be changed".... This was all in the photographs and description clearly.
Ebay only gave me the option to accept a return despite messaging and calling them, saying I'd get a postage refund if I disputed it on arrival. Which I did. And reported the buyer. The only option given on the return however was for me to refund the buyer. Ebay saying I should have disputed - I did. I added photographs etc too.
Ebay have charged me for return postage and will not refund it nor give me a human to talk to. Bot after bot responses who cannot even get my name right and refusing to escalate it. Buyer misused the policy and yet I am penalised?
Anyone else had this or have advice on what I can do?

Mentor1 week agoUnfortunately the procedure is to report to ebay after you have refunded. Never gets the seller anywhere, but no doubt gets recorded on buyers file to prevent it becoming a habit..

Mentor1 week agoGetting a refund of the return postage is a bit hit and miss in these situations, nothing more you can do.

OP1 week agoIt's just so ridiculous as they completely misused it because they chose to ignore my title, pictures and description. And paid £12.50 for a fitbit. They are now blocked of course.
