Buyer has messaged about item not yet delivered, eBay message states they will work directly with the buyer on the issue
Item tracking details show the item is on hold as has been damaged during transit, the buyer has messaged me asking where the order is. There is a box in the message saying: "Your buyer has reached out about their order. Since you used Simple Delivery, we'll work with your buyer directly on any delivery related questions."
Do I not need to reply to this now? Has anyone had eBay sort this out directly with the buyer?

Mentor1 week agoUsing Simple Delivery, if the buyer opens a case for item damaged in transit, as it seems here, then eBay take over, you need to do nothing.
They will fully refund the buyer, and you get to keep the payout for the item.
The buyer will be notified that they are being refunded.
It's one of the big pluses for using SD !

OP1 week agothank you, that really helps. Do I not need to reply to their message then? I can't see if eBay have put anything back to the buyer

Mentor1 week agoIf the buyer hasn't opened a formal "not received" or "damaged in transit" case on ebay ask them to do that now. If they've already done that you can send them a courtesy message just saying they will receive a refund from ebay, or you can just let ebay take its course.

Mentor1 week agoNope, you will not see anything eBay send to the buyer, and you do not have to message the buyer.
If buyer asks you what's a happening, explain eBay is refunding, and the refund will go back to original payment source.
Perhaps, inform them if they paid by credit card, it can take 30 days for it to appear in that card account. eBay for some reason always state a refund will be made in 3 - 5 days., which is not correct!
