Buyer has askem me not to send the item they bought because they are away
Buyer doesn't want me to send the item they bought until some unspecified time in the future. eBay's "help" chatbot thingy says I have to send it anyway or I risk some sort of sanction on my account. It doesn't seem to be able to tell me what my options are and I don't want to send something when there is no one there to recieve it.

Mentor2 weeks agoYour dispatch rating will suffer so it's best to cancel/refund the transaction and relist when the buyer gets back for them to buy and pay again.
On your sold/orders page click on the dropdown menu arrow alongside the item and select Cancel order. If you want to arrange the above with the buyer you can use the reason "Buyer asked to cancel". If you decide you're rather not sell to them use the reason "Problem with buyer's address" and put their ID on your blocked bidder list.

Mentor2 weeks agoVery annoying when buyers do this.
Explain to your buyer you will receive delivery defects on your account if you do not send now, so with their agreement, you need to cancel the order, this will fully refund them. Then, you'll relist when they are home to buy and pay for the item again.
Cancel the order, citing Buyer Requests to Cancel.
This fully refunds the buyer and your seller performance is not affected.
