Buyer gave me the wrong address.
A buyer gave me the wrong address and is now asking me to get Royal Mail to redirect his parcel to the correct address (which he has now supplied). When I have looked into this it looks as though I have to pay for this to happen, (although I am not certain due to the fact that I can't get past the AI assistant who keeps giving me information I don't understand). The buyer's item (a book) has generated very little in the way of profit for me...£6, so if I start spending more I'm going to lose out on something that's not my fault. What is the best course of action, please?

If the address you received was the one eBay sent to you on the delivery order, then you need to take no further action, definitely not pay for any re direction.
It is a member's full responsibility to keep their personal details, especially their delivery address up to date.
There is also another chance to check a delivery address the buyer can make, that is at checkout, the address is clearly shown on the left hand side, and can be corrected before paying.
This is your buyer's fault, they need to find a way to retrieve their item.

Mentor8 months agoIt is up to buyers to keep address information on ebay up to date and sellers only post to address provided by ebay. Delivered to any other address, and any tracking you have would not be good enough to prevent a not received case and you having to refund.
Does buyer really think it is possible among the millions of items in the post to expect to get a small parcel redirected.

·8 months agoMessage the buyer and tell them you are unable to redirect the parcel.
Tell them that, if you get the item safely back, you will refund them and put the item back up for sale, but suggest they could try to collect it from the address it has been sent to.
This is not your problem to sort out.
