Buyer entered wrong delivery address – reached my selling limit, what can I do?
Summary: tewauk1 is seeking advice on handling a situation where a buyer entered the wrong delivery address and requested to cancel the order. tewauk1 is concerned about reaching their eBay selling limit, which would prevent them from relisting the item. *vyolla* suggests canceling the order using the 'buyer asked to cancel' reason and attempting to relist it. They recommend contacting eBay Customer Services to request an override on the selling limit. tewauk1 notes difficulty in reaching eBay, especially on weekends, and *vyolla* advises on ways to contact eBay support through calls or online chat.
Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can advise me on what to do.
I’ve sold an item as a private seller, but the buyer has contacted me to say they entered the wrong delivery address and wants to cancel the order so they can purchase it again using the correct address.
The problem is that I’ve already reached my eBay selling limit after I sold the item. If I cancel the transaction, I’m worried I won’t be able to relist the item, meaning the buyer won’t be able to purchase it again.
What is the best way to handle this? Is there a way for eBay to allow me to relist this particular item or temporarily increase my selling limit so the buyer can repurchase it with the correct delivery address?
Thank you

Mentor2 weeks agoThere isn't a way forward here without cancelling the original order if the buyer says that their delivery address is incorrect.
Cancel it by selecting the 'buyer asked to cancel' reason (or accept the cancellation request if they sent one) and then see if you can relist it. If not, you may need to contact eBay and ask them to override your selling limit to allow you to.

OP2 weeks agoThanks for replying. You mentioned I may need to contact eBay to ask them to override my selling limit. What would be the best way to do this? I tried to do it myself on my seller account but they said I have to wait until next month or to check in when they feel I can get a limit increase? I’ve found it quite difficult to get through to a real person, especially at weekends.

Mentor2 weeks agoIt's not easy. I’ve found that the best route to contact eBay Customer Services is via the link below where you can call them or request a call back if you’re using the app (if you’re using desktop you’ll need to go round the houses with AI and start a chat then keep typing ‘agent’ until you get the option to live chat with a CS rep or to have a call back):
