Buyer didn't collect but refund won't process
Summary: sara_1995 faced an issue with a buyer who canceled an order after realizing the distance for a collection-only item. The buyer's funds are on hold as per the collection policy, but the refund can't be processed due to pending sellers fees. Attempts to use the existing bank card for paying fees have failed, and eBay customer service has advised using a different card, which sara_1995 doesn't have. The buyer has become rude, threatening legal action, while sara_1995 seeks advice on resolving the payment process issue. fargvs suggested ensuring a UK-based bank account is linked, as detailed in eBay's support articles.
I listed an item as collection only.
Yesterday a guy bought the item without realising how far apart we are.
So he cancelled the order.
If you don't know how collection only works basically the funds don't go into your bank account until collection is made. Until then funds remain on hold.
So the funds are on hold. Not in my bank account.
I have a bank card set up on my eBay. It's the same card I've been using for years. I've made numour purchases with it so the card itself is fine.
But the refund won't process because it says I have sellers fees to pay.
I attempt to pay the sellers fees using the bank card on my account. It says I can't.
I made sure the "sellers fees" box is ticked in preferences. Still won't work.
I deleted the bank card. Added it again and tried again. Still won't work.
Ive spoke to eBay customer services 5 times since yesterday. And all they suggest is I use a different card. I don't have one. And I don't see why I should mess around ordering a new bank card just for this one thing.
Now the buyer is being rude and threatening legal action because he seems to be under the impression I just simply don't want to refund him.
I'm unsure what to do?
Why can't they just deduct the sellers fees from the bank card already on my account?
