Buyer cancelled purchase, I had to pay for the refund before I received the funds
A buyer accepted an offer I sent her and paid. Five minutes later she said she’d purchased in error and requested a cancellation.
I agreed to the cancellation.
It transpires that I have to refund the non buyer prior to receiving her payment.
The money comes out of the seller’s eBay balance and if there is no money in there, it comes out of the sellers bank account. Then after 24 hours ( will update if this doesn’t happen) the money will go back into the sellers eBay balance.
There is no way around this.
To add insult to injury, automatic positive feedback was immediately left for the would be buyer.
How is this right? I guess I should be thankful I didn’t have to claim the delivery fee back as well ( Simple delivery actually made life easier )
I do feel time wasting buyers should be inconvenienced at least a little?
I was about to use my eBay balance, but now have to wait until tomorrow.

Mentor6 months agoThose are the rules we seller's sign up for, that is, if there is no money in your eBay balance to pay for a refund, your back up source, usually your bank balance is used.
Once the refund is complete, money is always held when a case is opened, the money the buyer initially paid is released to you.
