Buyer asking for refund on an item not collected after nearly 4 months
Hey, wasn’t too sure what board to put this under.
I had a buyer ask if there was possibility of postage for a collection item back at the start of November. Shortly after it was bought as collection, he said he’d arrange to pick up in four weeks. When I messaged again after this, I was told I would be messaged again in a couple days. Fast forward a couple months later, buyer is asking for a refund, sending the collection code and then stating if there’s no response in 20 minutes then bank details will be sent (and then were sent to me), then stating wanting avoicence of using eBay’s refund system due to timeframe of receiving it back. The sale listing now doesn’t appear for me to do anything.
I am unsure of what to do.

Mentor5 months agoYou can ony issue a refund on ebay for 90 days from date of sale. After that time you'll have to send as a payment using something like Paypal or direct bank transfer but will need buyer's details.

OP5 months agoI’m gonna correct my 20 minute statement - buyer said to give them 20 minutes to send information on paper.
Is it safe to send money over via transfer though? Buyer stated they could go over EBay’s refund process but it could take a while, so I’m a bit conscious of the risk of being double charged in that sense.

Mentor5 months agoEbay only has a 30 day money back guarantee and sellers can only refund through ebay up to 90 days.
