Buyer arranged own delivery on collection only and item got damaged
Summary: The discussion involves an issue where a buyer arranged their own delivery for an item that was listed as collection only. During the delivery process, the item was damaged. samhills28 appears to have shared the initial concern, followed by a contribution from papso22, though the specifics of the responses are not detailed.
I sold an item and listed it as collection only, the purchaser wanted to arrange their own courier to collect the item. I said I’ll be happy to leave it out. They expected me to package the item. I said that I would wrap it in shrink wrap as I didn’t have a box big enough but I cannot be responsible for any damage caused to this item, as it was collection only. I ended up wrapping the item in shrink wrap, the courier never turned up so I took it down to post office and sent it for them with a printed out QR code that I did at home. The items has now turned up at their property and is damaged. I have been paid for the item but the QR code, to say they have collected it, has still not been sent to me. what do I do.
