Business seller disguised as a private seller

Hello, I only use eBay to buy vehicles on classified adds and i do buy a few, I have recently tried to buy a van from a private seller, they said without me asking that they were not a trader and insisted quite fairly that it is sold as seen, they also insist on cash on collection only, I don't mind that, its quaint and old fashioned and not a lot of money, its around £2000, anyway when I called the second time the phone was answered by a different chap quoting a car and van sales company, doing a bit of research the private seller has many commercial vehicles listed, both current and completed (sold) over the past 3 months, around 65 in fact, they are clearly a motor trader trading as an eBay private seller, was just wondering if this was actually legal?, I have thanked the seller for their time and moved on but the curiosity still remains, thanks Rob.

Mentor6 months agoIt is illegal for a trader to present themselves as a private seller, eBay wont be interested but you can report them to their local trading standards generally via citizens advice.
