Broken items
Hi, I am concerned about how seller are allowed to sell damaged items & pretend like it's in good condition & Ebay does nothing about the deceitful seller. I bought two machines within 5 day & both are not working perfectly & the sellers didn't make mention of it in the advert. Please, I need to know the consequences of a deceitful seller

Mentor9 months agoI always surprises me that no one ever reads adverts, and what ebay puts on EVERY AD.
The wording could be improved “get the item you ordered and in good condition” but that is the money back guarantee.

Mentor9 months agoSellers are not "allowed" to give false descriptions here, but you need to understand that buying from strangers on eBay is not like buying from the shops. You accepted in the user agreement that eBay does not review listings or their content or guarantee that descriptions will be truthful or that items for sale will be safe, legal - or even exist.
Would you have bought from a shop that stated this?? eBay is a jungle and you knew or should have known the risks of buying here. If you do, you need to read and understand eBay's money back guaratee and the time limits, see: https://pages.ebay.co.uk/ebay-money-back-guarantee/

The consequences are, when you open the relevant cases, and if you need to escalate, ask eBay to step in and they force the refund, the seller will receive a defect on their account.
It doesn't take too many defects for eBay to boot a seller off their site .
There are serious consequences if the seller is a ' repeat offender', in selling defective items.

Mentor9 months agoIf you open a return within 30 days of the delivery date you will get your money back.
Start a return on here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/returns-refunds/return-item-refund?id=4041
select "Doesn't match description" and escalate it to eBay after 3 complete working days.
