Bought a picture, want a refund, email confirmation, but missing order

I bought a picture and wanted to return it. The owner sent me a link to the order for a refund. The link goes to an error message. There is no record of my purchase on my account. Can anyone advise please?

If you bought before your account was fully set up or without being logged in you need to return it as "guest" buyer. eBay are delaying replies containing links so you might be better off Googling "ebay guest buyer".
