Bought a Fold 8 from a trusted buyer, requesting receipt but no response.
Summary: zmd90 purchased a Fold 8 from a seemingly trusted seller at a reduced price but hasn't received a receipt despite multiple attempts to contact the seller. They are concerned about potential issues like the phone being reported stolen. They are considering opening a case and are unsure if they can get a refund since the phone's value might be slightly diminished due to use, despite being under eBay's general return policy. They seek recommendations for resolving the issue quickly.
Hello, bought a Fold 8 from what looks to be a trusted seller. We agreed on a slightly lower price than the Buy It Now and I bought it.
The phone is brand new, and I used it for about 3 days. I asked if the seller could send the receipt, but I haven't gotten a response.
I messaged 3 times over a week but nothing.
I'm a little concerned about this since it comes off as suspicious. There have been rare cases on FB marketplace where the phone gets locked because the original buyer either reported it stolen or hadn't fulfilled the trade-in properly.
Shall I open a case? Will a refund be valid considering I opened it, thus diminishing the value slightly despite the condition still being like new? This item is a no-returns-accepted item, but I know ebay still allows returns as a general rule. I don't know if ebay provides buyer protection after the 30 days passes after purchase so I wanted to resolve this sooner than later.
Interested in recommendations, thanks.

The ebay money back guarantee lasts for 30 days from delivery only.
