Bidder's and possible scammers
Hi, I'd like to know where I stand if I sell an item of high value and the bidder's feedback is 0 or only 1? I'm very sceptical about selling to these people as I've been scammed several times in the past.

Mentor7 months agoBottom line is, it's impossible to tell who is setting out to part you from your item and your money.
New buyers are joining eBay each day and will start off with zero feedback.
The one time I was scammed it was by a buyer/seller who had a good standing account and over 600 feedback with no clues there at all as to what they were planning.
As correctly pointed out, it's a risk you take unless the item is cash on collection (which is not permitted on eBay).

Mentor7 months agoEveryone started with a 0 feedback score, you did , I did. You cannot block those members, if that is what you are asking.
It can be a risk selling an expensive item to a 0 feedback member, as it is to one with a high score.
If someone wants to scam you, unfortunately, there's more ways than one here, to do so.
Some would ( rightly?) say, only list items you can afford to lose. 🤔

Mentor7 months agoIt wasn't meant to be impolite, and I certainly have never looked at anyone's feedback score deciding whether to sell to them or not. I sold to everyone , and never had one issue.
I was just repeating what a lot of people do say on here, that yes, there is a risk selling expensive items online, so many choose not sell those items.
It's such a shame that for collection items you cannot accept cash on collection anymore, this was ideal when selling a collection item.

Mentor7 months agoUnfortunately it's true. There are many ways a seller can fall victim to a dodgy buyer and lose the item and the money. Telling you that is helpful.

Mentor7 months agoIf you are worried by a buyer you can always cancel the transaction using the reason "Issue with buyer's address", which is the nearest we have for a suspect buyer.
