Being charged more by ebay for offering free postage than as originally listed .

Hello everyone - Ive been having a problem when Ive listed an item with FREE POSTGE to the buyer . I sell comic books , so I know for a fact that the cheapest postage ( through simple postage ) is enough to cover the size and weight . When I list Free postage , I stipulate when creating the listing , that the postage is the lowest price ( I think its £2.72 ) but whenever an item advertised with free postage actually sells , I am charged £3.38 ( small parcel price ) I KNOW for certain that the price I am charged is NOT the one I stipulated in the original listing - Has anyone else encountered this ? ( thank you for any replies )

Mentor5 days agoAre you saying that when ebay provides you with the 'seller pays' postage label for your free listings it comes at the higher price with no option to choose something else?
Have you read all of the simple delivery guidance on pricing?

You have set postage at £2.72, buyer pays this & you get link to print label.
Don't forget Simple delivery postage is always tracked.

OP5 days agoHello and thank you for your reply - Heres 3 in the last month . With each one I offered free postage .
I specified Tracked 48 drop off , which is £2.72 . I know I did , but when the item sold , ebay had selected small parcel ( up to 1kg ) which then charged me £3.38 . Whilst I realise its only 66p , its 66p I am losing through no fault of my own .
