Awaiting a refund for unused postage
Summary: ernietheduck faced an issue with a postage label they incorrectly created, leading them to cancel a sale and issue a refund to the customer, but they have not yet received a refund for the unused postage. They noted difficulty in addressing the issue due to limited customer support options. **peaseblossom** and john1297576 suggested that refunds related to seller postage fees typically take 30 days, explaining that if postage is paid via the listing, it is refunded automatically to the buyer.
I made an error with a recent sale and created a postage label for £3.95, because at first I couldn't see how to change what I needed to (I'm aware now of what I need to do to amend the postage cost to reflect the size and weight of each package). I cancelled the sale and issued a refund back to the customer, as well as cancelling the postage, but I still haven't received the refund back for the payment for postage which has gone unused. I raised a cancellation request on the same day I issued the refund for the order, which was 8th June, but when checking the menu for "Track and manage your packages", in the column, "Track Package", it's still displaying Cancellation Requested. There doesn't seem to be a straightforward way to speak to a person and AI isn't really resolving the issue for me. Can anyone advise what happens now? Thanks

Mentor3 months agoAs far as I am aware refunds of postage for sellers take 30 days.
Only when buyer pays, is refund for unused postage refunded sutomatically.

Mentor3 months agoIf you had free postage on the listing then you will have paid for it and you can cancel it here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/claims/simple-delivery/refund/seller
If you've done that already that's fine.
If you had the cost of postage on your listing that means the buyer paid for it and it will be refunded to them automatically.
Either way it takes 30 days for the refund to come through.
