Auto paying ith PayPal
I've just purchased an item where I made an offer which the seller accepted. I would then normally pay for the item with PayPal, which involves me signing into PayPal with my password. However this time the item was automatically paid for via PayPal without any action from me at all. I have no issue with the purchase, but I don't want items paying for automatically as this is very insecure and risky. Because if someone gets into my eBay account they will then be able to buy what they like using PayPal. Can I disable the auto payment with PayPal on my account?

Mentor6 months agoSounds like PayPal have added your device as a trusted device so you don't need to log in to PayPal to authorise a payment for a Buy It Now.
Log into your PayPal account and check.

Mentor6 months agoIf bidding in auction, auto pay does not apply.
Only for BIN or offers if seller has selected it.

Mentor6 months agoI don't like these auto features,
Neither do I, but they're becoming almost universal for "trusted devices".
You should be able to stop them if you navigate your way to the options section of your PayPal account, but they don't make it easy. I think PayPal calls it "one touch".

Mentor6 months agoSeller has auto payment on acceptance of offer.
This stops buyers making an offer and not paying.
You would have had to add payment details when making an offer,
I think once you add payment details the 1st time, it works this way with offers in the future.

OP6 months agoWhat about if I make a bid on an item and win the auction. Does that autopay as well or do I have to go in and physically pay for the item?
