Authenticator
A Mulberry leather bag I listed has been verified by the authenticator as genuine but is being returned to me as according to the authenticator it did not match the listing as it had an external odour. This is total nonsense as it has been in my wardrobe in its dust bag so probably just needs airing for a day or two. To be honest I didn’t notice any odour at all and the inside and outside of bag are in excellent condition. Can I appeal this decision?

·6 months agoI don't think there is any way to appeal a decision by the authenticator and the bag will be on its way back to you.
Maybe air it thoroughly before you relist it. Leave it open in a nice airy place and not inside the dust bag.

OP6 months agoI will give that a try. Think I’m done with EBay and moving to Vinted.

Mentor6 months agoGood luck with the appeal, and for future selling wherever you go! 🤗
Please though, come back and tell us how the appeal went , as it may help us to help others in the future, thank you!

Mentor6 months agoAs I understand it, there is no case to appeal.
If the authenticator is simply says has an odour, that was their decision. There is no appeal.
Could the wardrobe have been in a cold or damp room? Owners don't always realise that their things are smelling musty. We could tell who had given us one Christmas present last year without even opening it.
