Authentication I have not selected
Summary: kaydarling0000 expressed frustration over being charged for authentication of low-value items, which they did not intentionally select. They suspect the option defaults to selected without their consent. *vyolla* requested listing numbers to investigate further, and kaydarling0000 provided one of the listing numbers as an example.
I’ve now paid for 2 items to be authenticated over the last few weeks where I did not select it. Both items were valued at only £5 or so, so why would I want them authenticated? I did not select the option. It seems to have defaulted as selected each time.
I do realise I should check the total before I pay, but I didn’t. I just clicked on Pay ! I’m so angry about this as I really do think it’s defaulting as selected. I am definitely not selecting it, even accidentally . I’m so angry.

Can you post a screenshot of the fee you're seeing please?
