Assistance from eBay's Customer Support Human NOT ai
Summary: too-much-stuff101 shared a frustrating experience of a buyer purchasing a collection-only item from the other side of England, cancelling the order, and then claiming non-receipt. They expressed concern about the buyer potentially exploiting a loophole and asked for advice on getting a refund from eBay. papso22 clarified that a refund should only occur if the item was paid for and cancelled, suggesting that buyers can't be refunded twice.
My first listing on ebay collection only, was purchased by a buyer on the other side of England.
I messaged buyer asked how they would collect ? No reply was given. Buyer then cancelled the item and I acknowledged cancelation I have cancelled ID.
3 Months later the same buyer complains they did not receive the item. Ebay refund item that was never paid for. Does this happen often it looks like a dodgy buyer abusing a loophole?
How do I get funds to be returned?? How do I talk to ebay?

When you accepted the cancellation that should have resulted in a refund.
Buyers can't get refunded twice and you can't keep the funds and the item.
