asking seller to cancel an order

I bought an item 4 days ago and asked the seller to send it by special delivery rather than Yodel. Seller and I agreed she'd send me an updated invoice once she'd worked out what the new postage would be and once I had that I would pay. Seller messaged me today to apologise that a family member had, unbeknown to her, since sold the item on another site. I've asked her to cancel the order as My Ebay is still showing an alert that I haven't paid. She's a new seller so I directed her to look at her options menu - cancel order - possibly choose 'item no longer in stock'. I don't want either of us to receive any negative marks to our accounts. If she doesn't send me a cancellation to accept, should I send her one in a couple of days (though none of the options for me to choose under the buyer 'cancel menu' are appropriate in this case).

Mentor2 months agoOut of stock gives seller a defect! If she uses buyer has not paid after 4 days to cancel sale then you get an unpaid strike.
She cannot honour the sale so she must cancel, using whatever reason she wishes.
It could even be that she has realised she cannot send you ax revised invoice, ebay’s simple delivery is very inflexible.

Mentor2 months agoWhich option you choose doesn't really matter. Even when you request a cancellation she still has to implement it. If she still doesn't do that wait for the estimated delivery date to pass and then open a "not received" case to get your money back.
