Any advice please!
Summary: mbea8080 is seeking advice on a situation with a buyer who purchased an antique bracelet for £450, knowing about a broken safety chain. After a partial refund of £20 was given, the buyer requested an additional £125 for a loose dog clip or threatened to return the item. *guinevere* suggested asking the buyer to open a 'Not as Described' return and advised on the implications of partial refunds on eBay's refund policies.
I hope someone can advise me!
I sold an antique bracelet with dog clip and t bar. I had it for £500 but a buyer offered £450 and I accepted.
Upon receipt the buyer asked if I refund something, I gave £20 toward the safety chain. (She knew about the broken safety chain when she purchased.
She has paid for a new safety chain to replace the original and she has now said the dog clip is loose and not safe. I had never found a problem.
She has asked if I will give her £125 for new one or she will return it.
My Husband said she has compromised the sale but I am not so sure what eBay will say!

Mentor2 weeks agoIf it were me I would ask her to return it for a refund., who knows what they will ask for next? Ask them to open a Not as Described return. you will be required to supply a prepaid return label.
That you have already refunded £50 may complicate matters as ebay will only allow you to refund what they paid originally.
