Am i covered sending through a 3rd party
Hello, i’m hoping someone can help me.
I’ve had a buyer pay for an item that i’ve listed as no international shipping.
It looks as though she lives in Saudi Arabia and is using a third party company to get the article to her.
My question is can she then say the item had not arrived and i’m liable to refund her…i’m wary of dealing with her because when i’ve asked direct quotations such as where are you based she is not answering, just saying this is how she gets her Ebay items…
Should i just cancel the transaction?

Mentor6 months agoDo you mean this buyer is using a forwarding Company here in the UK.
Has eBay sent you the address to post to and it's a UK address, then all is good, you post the usual way and all you need is tracking to show delivery to that UK address, any onward journey, is not your responsibility.
I used to sell many items to members all over the world who used a UK forwarding Company, address confirmed by eBay, as I only post to the UK, and never had any problem.
If however, eBay have sent you a Saudi Address to post to, and the buyer is asking for it to be posted somewhere in the UK, here cancel the order citing Problem with Buyer's Account. This fully refunds the buyer, and your seller performance is not affected.

It’s her evasiveness that’s making me feel wary.

Mentor6 months agoAs said delivery to the forwarding address provides proof of delivery, but I think buyer can still open a Not as described return, although you would find difficulty in providing a return label, so she would have to pay to return tracked postage.
If you have her ID you can see where she is registered, but not where she is living.

Mentor6 months agoHer buyer protection is void after the parcel gets to the address in the UK. Just be sure to only send to the address supplied by eBay.

OP6 months agome in the event she claims it hasn’t arrived, i’d only have the tracking
that it got to the UK address no signature … I think i’ll just cancel. not
worth me worrying over it. not overly valuable but cannot be replaced as
vintage.

Mentor6 months agoIf you want to cancel use "problem with buyer's address". That does not need agreement and won't harm your account.
