Age verification - holding credit cards for payment on ebay

Why do you need an age verification on my very old ebay account?

That has multiple payment methods!

Not happy with this, I do not have time to be entering information you hold.

Currently, only a (single monthly payment) Credit Card entry to confirm your age is acceptable to eBay --- nothing else will do !! --- an everyday use Debit Card will not be accepted. Family or friend to purchase on your behalf perhaps ?.

To buy bladed items, by law you have to prove you are 18+.

Ebay chooses to only accept credit card,

If you don't have 1, ask a friend with CC to buy for you.

Age of ebay account is not relevant.
